Premiere Saxophone Quartet
The Premiere Saxophone Quartet was founded in 2005 with the generous
financial assistance of the School of Music and Dance at San Jose State
University. They are dedicated to promoting new music for the saxophone
quartet via performances and recordings with regular performances at SJSU
and throughout the area. The groups recently performed to rave reviews at
the North American Saxophone Alliance's Biennial Convention at the
University of Iowa.
The members are Dale Wolford (soprano), Professor of saxophone at San Jose
State University and California State University, Stanislaus; Kevin Stewart
(alto), performer with the San Francisco Symphony; David Henderson (tenor),
Dominican College and performer with the San Francisco Symphony; and Aaron
Lington (baritone), director of jazz studies at San Jose State University.
